VISION
To glorify God by being a vibrant church of disciple-makers, driven by a passion for God's word, God's family, and God's world that reproduces vibrant churches locally and globally.
Biblical
God’s Word is what provides us the framework for living, refreshes our souls, and confronts us with God’s will as we align with Him.
Intergenerational
No matter your age or what language you speak, we wish to have a place where all feel welcome and to live in God’s family.
Missional
God’s world is global, and so we too must be global, reaching out to the lost both locally and abroad.
Five Indicators
Matthew 22:37-40
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
Love Passionately
James 1:22
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
Live Authentically
Acts 20:35
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Give Generously
Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Go Courageously
Colossians 4:2
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Pray Fervently
What We Believe
We believe in one God who eternally exists as three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16, 17; 28:19). This one true God is the sole Creator of all that exists (Genesis 1:1).
We believe Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, is the eternal Son of God in the flesh. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world, was buried, bodily resurrected, ascended to the Father, and will return a second time to earth (Matthew 1:18; 3:17; 28:5, 6; Act 1:11).
We believe humans to be lost sinners, created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27). All humans are lost sinners, eternally separated from God unless they repent and are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8, 9).
We believe that the Holy Bible, consisting of sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. It is the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of humans and the final authority for Christian faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ to be the head of His Church, which includes all of the redeemed throughout the ages (Colossians 1:18).
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead for all persons: to judgment for those outside of Jesus Christ, to glorification for all true believers in Jesus Christ (John 5:29).

Our Story
In October 1984, a group of people from First Chinese Baptist Church of Los Angeles gathered to pray about possibly starting a church plant East of Chinatown. They hoped that God would establish a church that would reach the Chinese community by providing a place where families could worship God together.
As a result of their prayers and God’s blessing, FCBC Walnut was born. Initially meeting at a school in Hacienda Heights, God would graciously provide a permanent meeting place in Walnut. In 1993, we moved to our current location at 1555 Fairway Dr, Walnut and have been here ever since. The story of FCBC Walnut is a story of God’s gracious provision.
