FAQ

  • This year’s Vacation Bible School theme is Magnified! It is held from June 23 (Monday) – June 27 (Friday) from 1:30-4:30pm. Volunteer hours are 12:30-5:00pm. Location at FCBC Walnut 1555 Fairway Drive, Walnut, CA 91789.

  • Anyone (6th grade or older) who regularly attends FCBC Walnut. Medical Release Authorization forms will be required for volunteers under the age of 18. Live Scan fingerprinting will be required for volunteers 18 or older.

  • VBS represents a unified pursuit of our disciple-making vision. It gives our church family opportunities to serve together across congregations and generations as we open our doors to intentionally engage the community with the Gospel.

  • There are many areas where you can serve, including hospitality, security, teaching, gospel sharing, crew leading, providing childcare, games, arts/crafts, music, and more. View a more extensive list of ministry areas on the form above.

  • Yes. Preschool and Nursery for younger children is available (free) for the days that you volunteer.

  • Students entering K-6th grade this August can register for VBS as attendees.* Older children who have finished 6th grade may also register as a VBS volunteer. Medical Release Authorization forms will be required for volunteers under the age of 18.

    *Parents who commit to serving the entire week, Monday through Friday, will be given a discount code to register their elementary age children for VBS, free of charge.

  • We will need lots of help on all five days of VBS Week, Monday through Friday. Volunteer hours will be approximately 12:30-5pm. Lunch will be provided on the days that you serve. In addition to VBS week, there will be three mandatory volunteer meetings to take place on Sunday 4/27, 6/1, 6/22.

  • We ask you to prayerfully consider committing as many days as you are able to. Register as a volunteer and indicate your commitment accordingly on the form.

    If you are unable to serve during VBS week, we could still use your help with childcare during VBS Volunteer meetings (4/27, 6/1, and 6/22). You can volunteer to provide childcare in the form above.

  • We need help with childcare for Volunteers while they attend mandatory training/meetings which will take place on Sundays 4/27, 6/1, 6/22, from approximately 1-3pm. You can volunteer to provide childcare in the form above.

    There may be other ways to help outside of the week of VBS. Look for announcements as we get closer. However, we encourage you to give VBS week priority in your schedule, where you are able to.

  • VBS is a great way to use your gifts to connect with those within and outside of the church, and to express our love and obedience to the Lord by serving others. As a VBS volunteer, you will play a part in launching one of FCBC’s ultimate intergenerational, cross-congregational ministry initiatives! Volunteering includes an unforgettable week of summer fun and investing in God’s Kingdom, a VBS t-shirt, and, on the days that you serve, free childcare and lunch.

  • If this is your first time serving at FCBC Walnut, then you will need to get a Live Scan completed. If you have completed a Live Scan in the past with FCBC Walnut, you do not need to get another Live Scan. Live Scans are organization specific. If you have completed a Live Scan at a different organization, at work, or school, you will need to complete a separate one for FCBC Walnut. More info can be found here.
