FAQ

VBS Week for Students

  • Students will be placed into Crews with others in their age groups. If you have a particular question about your child’s placement, please ask Registration or VBS Admin.

  • Your child will be given a white VBS T-shirt on Monday; please wear that every day. We recommend comfortable, modest clothes, and closed-toed shoes that are suitable for games and crafts that can get messy. Please apply sunscreen on your child before dropping them off.

  • If you live nearby, you are welcome to come back and drop it off and we can give it to them to change into. Otherwise, no worries!

  • Optional.

  • We cannot administer medication of any kind. If your child can take the medication themselves, please have them bring it in a ziplock bag (labeled with their name) and their Crew Leader can hold it for them to use when needed. You can also come to church to give medication to your child as needed.

  • Water bottle with their name on it. They will have access to water filling stations. Masks are optional. Please label all belongings. However, please bring as little as possible, as they will be moving from room to room, and unnecessary items may get lost.

  • No, students will not eat lunch at VBS. Please have them eat lunch before VBS. Snacks will be provided.

  • There will be light, nut-free snacks like crackers, chips and cookies, fruit, juice and water. Please be sure to note any dietary restrictions or allergies on the registration form so that we can prepare an alternative snack if necessary. Students will have access to water filling stations.

  • The VBS program will commence at 1:30 each day with the Opening Assembly. From there, students will make their way through the different rotations with their Crews: Crafts, Games, Bible Lesson, Singing, and Snacks. We will end each VBS day with the Closing Assembly. Parents should arrive to pick up their children at 4:30 PM each day, with the exception of Friday (pick up at 5pm after Friday Closing Assembly.) Please review the FAQ for Friday Open House.

Drop-off / Check-in Questions

  • Look for signs in the Hope Center for Check-in. Check-in is open between 1-1:30pm. VBS starts at 1:30pm every day, so we recommend arriving between 1-1:15pm to allow time to check in and settle in. Please do not leave your child unattended at church prior to checking them in. *Important: You will receive a security code sticker upon checking your child(ren) in. You will need to show this security code in order to pick up your child. A picture of the code is permissible for pick-up, so it would be a good idea to save a picture of it on your phone as soon as you receive it in case it is lost or forgotten, or in case you plan to designate someone else to pick up your child.

  • The church parking lot is available and you are welcome to park in any spot in the 2nd or 3rd tier. Volunteers wearing yellow VBS t-shirts will be in the parking lot during arrival for Check-in to direct traffic. Please do not park on the curb or double park. The Hope Center is visible from the parking lot. (Note: Volunteers may only park in the new lower brick lot or the new upper lot.)

  • No, parents must accompany their children into the Hope Center for Check-in.

  • The VBS Admin Team will be available on site during the VBS program. If there is an urgent need, please call the church office (909) 468-0098 if you need to speak with an Admin Team member or need to be connected to your child.

  • Please try to arrive on time within Check-in hours (1-1:30) each day. If you arrive late, we will need to check your child in manually.

Pick-up / Check-out Questions

  • Pick up time is 4:30pm in the Hope Center (the same location as Check-in) with the exception of Friday. On Friday, parents are invited to join the Friday Closing Assembly (4:30-5pm), and can pick up / Check-out their children at 5pm. Then, families are all invited to stay for the Friday Open House (5-6:30pm) immediately following. Please review the FAQ for Friday Open House.

  • Please park and come into the Hope Center to pick up your child(ren). There will be signs for three separate Check-out points in the Hope Center, 1) Kindergarten-1st graders, 2) 2nd-3rd graders, 3) 4th-6th graders. Siblings can be picked up together. You will need to present your security code to those at Check-in/Check-out in order to pick up your child. If you forget or lose your child’s security code, please visit the Check-in/Check-out table. A picture of the code is permissible for entry, so it would be a good idea to save a picture of it on your phone as soon as you receive it in case it is lost or forgotten.

  • Please give your child’s security code or send a picture of it to that person. If that person does not have your child’s security code, he/she will be asked to step aside until you can be contacted.

  • Please let us know during Check-in. We will bring your child to meet you at the Hope Center at the specified time. Please be sure to bring the security code that you received at Check-in.

  • Friday Open House will take place Friday, June 28 from 5-6:30pm, immediately after the Friday Closing Assembly (4:30-5pm) and Check-out (5pm), in the Hope Center and Plaza. At the Friday Closing Assembly, there will be a short performance from the students. Parents will then pick up their children (must have security code to leave Hope Center) and head outside to the Hope Center Plaza for light refreshments and festivities.

  • Parents will Check-out their kids immediately after the Friday Closing Assembly (4:30-5pm) and you are free to leave after Check-out at 5pm. If you need to leave earlier than that, please let us know during Check-in.

  • Any lost items will be placed in the Hope Center lobby. You can check after picking up your child. Please do not bring any toys or anything of value to VBS; we are not responsible for any lost items.

  • Please check out our website which houses information on our various ministries, such as Sunday School, Children’s Worship, Friday Night Awana, and Youth/Peewee Basketball. You can also reach out directly to our Children’s Director, Katy Lee [email protected] for more information.
