Kristen Montgomery

Children’s Director

Kristen believed in Christ as her source of salvation as a child and grew up learning God’s Word at home, at VBS, and in Sunday School. As a teen and adult, she saw how the Biblical truth she learned as a kid continued to ground and guide her life. In university, she studied education, and her teaching credentials include early childhood education, elementary education, English, social studies, and reading. 

After being trained as a teacher, Kristen worked in Christian education for 12 years. For the past 10 years, Kristen taught and discipled students in Asia. She lived in Taipei, Taiwan, for 9 years and feels most at home on that island.

Kristen joined FCBC Walnut in 2026 as the Children’s Director. Kristen loves helping kids and young people understand how God’s Word speaks to hearts and lives. She is currently finishing her M.Div. in Biblical Theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. 

When she is not hanging out with kids, Kristen enjoys traveling, reading, writing, baking, and doing crafts (sewing, knitting, etc.). She also loves learning about history, visiting historic sites, and exploring museums.
